Happy Anniversary....

....to my EYES!!!! Today is my one year anniversary for when I had Lasik eye surgery. I am SSOOOOOO glad that I had it done...I love it!! I was pretty much blind before I had it done and now I'm 20/20 or better. I'm not kidding when I say I was blind. When asked to read the eye chart on the wall, I couldn't even see it! I would have to walk up to it so I was about a foot away and then I could see the "E". Yep, if I was born hundreds of years ago, I probably would've been useless...I couldn't do anything without glasses/contacts. I love my eyes now...they work great!!! Thanks Lasik! (man, I could do a commercial)

Cute Carson...

Carson just keeps getting more and more fun! He is now talking a ton and it's soo fun to hear what he says. He can put a few words together, but no big sentences yet. He pretty much copies anything we say. I wasn't sure when he would start really talking because at his 18 month doctor check up, the doctor said he should know more words (he really didn't know any words, just a handful of animal sounds), but only a few months later he started saying all sorts of words! He went from not even saying mama and dada to saying TONS of words. It's just so fun!! Here are some of my favorite things he says:

1. funny mommy....funny daddy....funny ball....funny truck....(he just says funny in front of whatever he thinks is funny)

2. dirty (he says this with a cute little voice and doesn't say the "R" that well so it sounds so cute)

3. Martian...EIEIO (we have this weird Old MacDonald book that has normal farm animals and then the last one is a Martian. Carson LOVES the martian and when singing the song he ALWAYS picks to sing about the martian)

4. Prophet & Jesus (Carson loves to point out the prophet and Jesus in his church books).

5. After reading this post by Mendy, I decided to ask Carson "who loves Mommy?"....his answer?....."daddy!"....too cute.

6. Bye, Bye slide! (He always sadly says this when we leave the playground)

Okay, I'll stop there. It's just soo fun to hear him talk in his cute little voice. We love you Carson!

EASTER!

Rolling in cinnamon-sugar
Putting 'em in the pan
OOhh, I found one!
Mommy and Carson
Jellybeans on the piano...awesome!
So happy!!

Here are a few pictures from our Easter weekend. The first few pictures are from before Easter when we had Carson help us make monkey bread. It was the perfect little kid cooking activity. You take biscuit dough and roll it into small balls, dip them in melted butter, then roll them in cinnamon sugar, then throw them in a bundt pan and cook it...yum!!! Carson was having a great time rolling them in the cinnamon sugar and then squishing them in his hand before placing them in the pan. I don't know why, but he felt he had to smush them first. At least he was having fun, and it doesn't really matter if their smushed or not. It was a fun activity!

We had a great Easter sunday also. After Carson's nap we woke him up with his little basket of candy. He was soo excited and kept saying "danny!", which mean's candy. Then we took him downstairs for a jelly bean hunt. It wasn't really a hunt since they were very obvious, but I think he loved the idea of "danny" just laying around all over the room. He was very cute finding the jelly beans. We also had a lovely dinner with ham and funeral potatoes...yumm!!! Happy Easter!

FLASHBACK FRIDAY!

This is a picture of Dan on his mission. I'm assuming it was Christmas-time, but I'm not exactly sure who he is suppose to be. He's the one in black in the back....funny missionaries!

Thanks Dan!

I tell you, I really do have the world's greatest husband. This weekend while my brother and his wife we're visiting, I came down with some kind of flu bug. I don't like being sick (who does) and I'm not a very pleasant sick person. I would like to think I am, but when my darling husband is around, I'm pretty much just useless and whiny. This weekend, he took care of me soo well and didn't question when I slept the entire day away without helping out with ANYTHING! He is so good to me....thanks Dan!!!

Once I was feeling better last night, I finally cut Dan and Carson's hair. They had been needing it for a while. Carson was actually excited to get his hair cut (he usually does well, but we put a DVD on) and I had half of it cut before the DVD even started. He is so cute! We also let him watch the rest of his show with the headphones on b/c we want him to be use to them for when we are on the plane. He didn't seam to mind them one bit.
Okay, one more story. So, the other day Dan, Carson, and I were all driving in the van listening to "The Phantom of the Opera". Carson was being very good and barely making a peep. The part of the song came on where the Phantom is mad and yells "DAMN YOU!". Well, after minutes of silence, Carson decided to repeat something...can you guess what he said??? Dan and I were dying laughing...what are we teaching are child?

Our NEW Van!!!

Well, we got it! We are so excited! After dealing with a very annoying manager who wasted our time with his "talk", we found another dealership who was super nice and had the van we wanted for the right price...yeah! So, we bought it on wednesday. It is so fun! The back seats fold down so easily and the middle seats fold down too. There is also a 6-CD changer and a DVD player. We actually didn't want the DVD player but this one was the same price as others without it and it was the only one in the color we wanted at multiple dealerships. So, we got the DVD, but haven't shown it to Carson yet. I know once he sees that it is in there he will always ask for a "show?" when we get in the car...uggh! We are still saddened by the loss of the Jeep, but we are very excited for our new van, we can already tell we are going to LOVE it!
On another note, this weekend my brother Ken and his wife, Roxie, came to visit. It was a very quick trip, but it's always fun to have visitors. Unfortunately I had the flu while they were here and so I wasn't very fun. They had a good time, keeping busy with a wedding to go to and lots of visiting friends and sites. Thanks for coming guys, you are welcome ANY time!!!!
