....to my EYES!!!! Today is my one year anniversary for when I had Lasik eye surgery. I am SSOOOOOO glad that I had it done...I love it!! I was pretty much blind before I had it done and now I'm 20/20 or better. I'm not kidding when I say I was blind. When asked to read the eye chart on the wall, I couldn't even see it! I would have to walk up to it so I was about a foot away and then I could see the "E". Yep, if I was born hundreds of years ago, I probably would've been useless...I couldn't do anything without glasses/contacts. I love my eyes now...they work great!!! Thanks Lasik! (man, I could do a commercial)

congratulations to your eyes!!!! I would love to have that done. maybe one day we'll win the lottery! that picture is pretty gross though! :)
Hey that is great congrats! I didn't know you had that done. I have been thinking of it. Are your eyes extra dry. I heard that is what happens after. I also heard it only lasts 5 years then need to do it again. Is all that true? Hey that is a pretty gross picture!
My husband is also blind and we keep saying we are going to get him the lasik surgery. I think he might get it done this summer. How is your night vision?
I definately am going to get it done as soon as I can afford it. I'm legally blind and can't see the eye chart unless face to face also. (My contacts are -8.5 and no matter how well I see in the exam room, I can't ever really see far away in the real world. I recently heard when you have really bad eyes, contacts don't really work, so that must be why.)
I will still get it done with the chance of dry eye and bad night vision (I already have both a lot anyways) but am intrested to see who does or doesn't have it. Do you?
Okay, it took me a bit to figure out what that picture was of. I'm glad you can see now!
Yeah, at first I thought that picture was of a sewing machine, where the needle and thread are...but soon figured out it was an eyeball...
Anyway, glad you can see. I remember how thick your glasses were. Congratulations!
Yep, I LOVE my eyes! Annette, I had -8.5 contacts too! We've both always been so blind! They thought that I might have to do it twice b/c my vision was so bad, but it only took one shot! The first week after my eyes were a little gritty, but after that, I've had no problems! My eyes aren't dry at all (although they recommend using wetting drops for months)and I haven't noticed any major night vision problems. I think it is totally worth it, but definitly do your research about it and the doc you go to. I went to Lasik Plus and they were awesome!!!
I'm so glad for you!! It must make a world of difference. Happy not-being-blind-anymore anniversary!! :)
