How RUDE!

So, tonight Dan and I were getting into our car in a parking lot and I was sitting in the passenger seat while Dan was getting Carson buckled in his carseat and this crazy lady started honking at Dan b/c she wanted to pull into the spot right next to us (there were plenty of spots all around). So, Dan pulled the door closer in while he finished with Carson and she continued to honk at him. So, he finished and closed the door and got into the driver's seat. Well, she pulls in and swings her door open and hits our car. This made us a little mad and Dan got out of the car and asked her what she was doing. She was totally rude and said it was unintentional. I'm sure it was just as unintentional as all the honking. Dan told her we were getting our baby in his seat and she was just rude and walked off. What's up with that?? I'd like to say that we were civilized about it (and we would've just let it go if she didn't swing her door open too), but we might have "accidentally" hit our car door into her car before we left the parking lot. Okay, so we're not that mature. But she was totally rude!!! We usually don't get worked up over things, but I didn't feel too bad about giving her a piece of our minds. Why do some people have to be so rude!?! I'll go repent now :)

Can you spot a MORMON!?!

Last night my mom, Dan, and I were watching Supernanny. We had missed the very beginning so we didn't know where the family lived, but within about a minute or so of watching the family, I totally thought they were mormon. There was just something about this sweet, cute, modest, 29 year old mom with three kids and pregnant with the 4th that just screamed MORMON! Sure enough, after a little more close watching, I spotted the Family Home Evening board up above the TV. I was right! I don't know what it is exactly, but you can usually spot a mormon, even without any obvious hints. It was pretty funny. She was a very cute, overstressed mom and hopefully Jo Frost (the Supernanny) helped her and her family out. Can you spot a mormon???

We also watched a show called "Engaged and Underaged" b/c we saw a commercial for it earlier and it mentioned it being a mormon wedding. It was a story about two 19 year olds getting married. They actually got married in the temple, but had a ring ceremony for the grooms family, b/c they aren't LDS. It was actually really interesting to hear what the groom's family had to say, but it was pretty tastefully done. There were mormons all over TV last night.

Okay, that's enough of my admitting to watching silly TV shows.

We had a great time while my parents were here. Carson just loved his "papa" and "ma". He really showed off his fun personality while they were here and they thought he was just adorable. We didn't do anything much, but had a great time just relaxing and talking together. You guys can come down whenever you want!!!

I thought I would post this picture because they are coming to visit today...yeah! It's just till Tuesday, because my dad has a business meeting, but I'll take what I can get. Okay, so Jenni tagged me for this "Book Tag" and the closest book to me was my "Supernanny" book that Dan got me for Christmas. I thought this might be a fun book to share from until I opened to pg. 123 and the topic was "Feeding Babies" and the fifth sentence down was all about breastfeeding. Not that I'm against breastfeeding, but it's not exactly what I was expecting for my book tag. I thought I would get to write about some awesome disciplining technique or something, but no. I hope you enjoyed this post anyway :)

My Little Man...

Carson is getting so big and fun these days. He also seems to be getting over his separation anxiety...yeah! He is enjoying nursery more and more and we even had a babysitter (while he was still awake) this past weekend. Dan took me to Benihanas and we got one of the young women at church to babysit. Carson was actually REALLY excited when I brought Bekah home with me. I thought he would figure out that we were leaving him, but he was so happy to see her. When we left, he didn't even cry. Bekah said he was great and even took her by the hand and walked her up two flights of stairs to his bedroom. She even put him to bed and he only cried for a minute. We haven't had someone put him to bed since he was an infant. Bekah is sooo good with kids (she's one of 7 kids), we totally trust her, and Carson totally loved her. When we went to church a couple days later, he turned around and saw her and starting pointing and saying "Baba". I can only assume that means "Bekah". He really likes her....yeah! I think we'll be going out more and more these days!


Last week my friend Tami came up with her son Kyle. Carson and Kyle are only 3 weeks apart and are so cute together. They are playing more and more together and it's so fun to watch them having fun. They get along really well and actually don't fight over toys all that much. Tami also brought us a "host" gift from Wegmans. It was a fruit tart and it was absolutely delicious. Thanks for coming up Tami!


Carson was a little bit, or a lot bit, of a stinker yesterday. I'm going to blame it on two new teeth that I can see just broke through. But, anyway, he was a little difficult yesterday, but today he is super cute. We were watching Kaitlyn and he kept imitating what I would do to her. He would get up in her face and say "Hi-iiii" and tickle her. It was really cute, he really likes the "baby". Carson also especially likes songs lately. We were singing "The Wheels on the Bus" and after every verse he would say "ada?", which means "again". Then before I could sing "The parents on the bus say shh, shh, shh", he put his little finger up to his mouth and said "shh, shh, shh". I guess you had to be there, but he's just so cute. Also, when I sing the end of the ABC song, "Next time won't you sing with...", he always says "ME!!!" really loud and cute. He's getting so fun these days.

Flashback Friday!

Here's a cute picture of my Grandpa Simmons with my brothers. It was taken sometime in the 70's, but I guess you could probably tell that by the clothes that they are wearing :)

Happy Valentine's Day!

Well, it's not yet over, but we have had a wonderful Valentine's day already. The day had some unexpected fun surprises starting off with Dan getting off of work for the snow. Right after we put Carson down for a nap, our 17 year old neighbor, Myreon, came over to say hello since he had the day off of school. He told us we should go see a movie while Carson was napping and he would hang-out at our house. So, we decided to take him up on it. It was a great little mid-day gettaway. We went and saw "Music and Lyrics" with Hugh Grant and Drew Barrymore. It was a typical chick-flick, but both Dan and I thought it was pretty cute. We hadn't been to a movie for quite a while, so it was fun to get out. We told Myreon that it was fine to leave Carson upstairs till we got home since he still has some separation anxiety (although he's getting much better) and we didn't want him to freak out if we didn't get him up from his nap. But when we got home, Carson was up and playing with Myreon. Myreon said that he didn't cry at all when he saw him and just started playing...go Carson! Afterwards we took Myreon and Carson to Chic-fil-a. What a fun Valentine's day...and it's not even over yet!
