Goodbye Uncle Ken!

My brother Ken left on Saturday...boohoo!  We had so much fun with him while he was here and were sad to see him leave.  We're just hoping he comes back for good soon!

We were happy when he came in June.

Had FUN while he was here.

And were sad to see him leave.

The County Fair

We had a great time at the County Fair this year.  We saw all the farm animals, fed some goats, and even saw cute little pigs race around a track.  We also let the kids ride a few rides before it was time to go to the demolition derby (Dan's favorite!).  Carson is just like his dad, so of course he loved the derby.  It was a great night!

Massanutten

My friend from junior high was on vacation with her family down at a resort in Massanutten, VA.  She invited us to spend a day with her...of course we said "YES!!!".  We had sooo much fun!  We played mini-golf, went up the mountain on the ski lift (in the rain no less!), went swimming, and went to dinner.  It was a fun filled day with great friends!  Thanks for inviting us down Jill...can't wait to see you again soon!

Are you ready for some FOOTBALL?!?!

Dan loves football.  So, when his boss asked if anyone wanted two free tickets to a Redskins game, he took 'em!  Even though we had plans to go with my brother to a Nationals Baseball game that night, I knew he would rather go see the football game.  I mean, it's football, right?  Or at least that's what he told me.  Do I love football?  Not at all!!!!  Of course I would've gone with free tickets, but since my brother is living with us for the summer, it only seemed right to have him go instead.  And then we found out who they were playing...the Buffalo Bills...my brother's favorite team!  So, the boys went and had a blast!  They sat on the 11th row from the field and almost to the 50 yard line...great seats (each ticket was worth $100!).  They had a great time...oh, and so did I.  I treated myself to dinner and a little shopping.  I got a few cute maternity clothes..yeah!  Here are some pictures from the game.  Sorry, no pictures of the maternity clothes :)

I couldn't resist

I just couldn't resist this cute pink swimsuit with a little tutu on it...especially when it was marked down from $16.50 to $6!!  I bought a size 5T for Bryn to wear next year, but when I showed it to her (I couldn't resist showing her either) she put it on immediately and started dancing around like a ballerina....exactly the response I was hoping for :)
And of course after Brynlee's photoshoot, Carson wanted his chance in front of the camera.  What a fun kid!

Lollypop, Lollypop, oh lolly, Lollypop....POP!

What a cute girl!  She loves lollypops!  I love her cute little freckly face!

Jumping on the couch is not a battle I choose to fight

I have never cared if my kids jump on the couch.  Call me crazy.  It just doesn't bother me.  Plus, you get super cute pictures like these.  Oh, and apparently I don't mind if my kids sit half naked in the blanket basket and read a book...what a funny girl!

COUSINS!

We had a BLAST with Ken's family visiting us for two weeks.  Ken's been with us all summer and we love having him!  We honestly don't see him very much every day, but we love having him here.  Carson and Brynlee epecially love their Uncle Ken and Bryn always has a super big cheesy smile on her face when he comes home.  When Ken's wife, Roxie, was here with their two kids Jake and Caleb, we had a ton of fun!  We went swimming, to a little farm, jumped on the trampoline, went to the Museum of Natural History in downtown DC, and spent the rest of the time hanging out and talking.  I had soo much fun talking to Roxie every day.  I think that's the most time we've ever spent together and it was great!  She is a great sis-n-law!  Here are a few pics of the kiddos right before we said goodbye.

And a cheesy shot of Roxie and me :)
