Flashback friday!

Tomorrow we leave for Rochester, NY...yeah! I'm very excited! We're going for the wedding of one of my bestest friends, Jill. We've known each other since junior high and have done a lot together. We took dance together, played in the school band together, sang in choirs together, etc. We have remained friends even after high school. I don't think we'll every not be friends. Even if it's been a while since we have talked to each other, when we finally do, it's great! I'm so happy for her and her fiance, Carlos. They are great together and will for sure have a fun and happy life together. Congratulations Jillers, I'm so happy for you!!! I can't wait to see you tomorrow!!

Isn't she pretty!

Here's a little picture from my ultrasound today. I had to get another one done because they couldn't see everything last time. I was fine (okay, I was happy) with that because it meant I could get a second opinion on whether or not it's really a girl. I guess after having a boy, I just didn't know if I should trust it. Today the baby wasn't cooperating at first, but then later when the doctor came in, he could definitely see that the baby is a girl! I saw it too and he definitely had me convinced...there were NO extra little boy parts. I was very happy! I'm very excited to be a mom of both a little boy and a baby girl. We are so blessed!

That's what friends are for

Carson has been learning to play with other kids lately. He still doesn't totally understand how to play together with his little friends, but he's a lot more interested in them. We have a great nursery program at church and he loves all his little friends there. One girl in particular, Lindsey, he especially likes. Lindsey's mom, Mary, and I are good friends and enjoy taking our kids to the park together. This morning Carson actually brought the phone to me and said "Windsey?". I guess he wanted to call Lindsey, so I called Mary and we decided to meet at the park later. Lindsey is about 8 months older than Carson, so she can talk better and do some more advanced things at the playground. Sometimes Carson gets frustrated that she can climb certain things that he can't, but he still loves playing with her. And Lindsey is just so cute with Carson. So, here is the real reason for this post. This was just so cute. While we were at the park today, Carson started getting really cranky while on the swings. I couldn't figure out why he was whining and crying and I got a little frustrated, so I put him in time out on a step on the playground. He started screaming and crying SOO loud. It was a little embarrassing, but luckily it was just Mary and I with our kids. So, while Carson was screaming, Lindsey came over and said "I want to go in time out too". Mary and I thought that was really cute and told her that Carson was in time out. But she went over and worked her magic! Carson scooted right over on the step for her to sit next to him and within seconds she had tamed the beast! He was giggling, kicking his feet, and having a good old time....literally seconds after she went over. I don't know how she did it, but it was just so cute! I was very impressed with Lindsey's ability to calm Carson down...maybe I always need her around...thanks little Lindsey!

What did WE do this weekend.

Saturday: This turned out to be a great day that we were able to catch up on lots of needed to be done errands. We were able to finally get rid of my old computer (we've been holding on to it for a year or so). It was getting so annoying having it in the living room corner and so I'm so happy it's gone. We also took a few boxes/bags to the thrift store. Can I just tell you, I love getting rid of stuff! I now have the bug to go through every nook and cranny in my house and de-clutter it....watch out Thrift store...here we come!

In the evening we went to my friend Ashley's house in Northern VA. We had all 5 of us friends from nursing school there....Me, Ashley, Sarah, Hannah, and Trevr. We all moved out here about 6 years ago after nursing school and have all stayed in touch. Ashley, Sarah, and I were roommates for several years. We had a lovely BBQ at Ashley's and it was sooo much fun to catch up on everything. Carson also loved being there. Ashley's roommate, Camille, took Carson next door to the fire station to show him all the fire trucks. He was SOOO excited. He got to sit in the trucks and see the ladders. He kept saying "fire truck, fire truck!"...over and over...it was really cute. Trevr also got him to say "fire red!" and "AWESOME fire truck". He also met a real fireman and got a cute plastic fire hat. It was really fun! When we got back to the house he couldn't stop telling everyone about the "FIRE TRUCK!"

Sunday: Sunday was a normal nice Sunday. Carson did especially well in church. He didn't ask for a single snack during sacrament meeting...that's amazing! He pretty much played with his toy jeep the whole time and was generally very well behaved. It was great! He also just loves nursery and has no problem leaving us behind. I love it! Sunday afternoon/evening I had to work...blah. It wasn't bad, i just would've rather been home :) I work a lot this week, but on Saturday we leave for NY...yeah!

Fun weekend...

Yesterday was Main St. Festival. Tami, Scott, and Kyle (their son that's the same age as Carson) came up Friday so Tami and I could get everything prepared for the festival. We had a fun day, but didn't actually hit he sack till about 1am. We then woke up bright and early Saturday morning, 5:30am, so we could get everything in the car and go to to Main St. to set up our booth. Amy (one of the young women at church) was SSOOO nice enough to come over at 6am, so we could have our husbands come help us with the set up. We got everything set up and we were pretty happy with the results, we thought our booth looked pretty cute! At 9am, there was a fun parade and then after that the street opened up to thousands of people. The festival was really large and it was really fun to see all the vendors and different things going on. Tami and I had a lot of fun and we ended up doing pretty well too!
Today has been a nice Mother's day. Dan got me some lovely flowers and earrings and also made me a yummy dinner...thanks Dan! We also went on a long walk; that was nice too. I am especially grateful for my awesome mother...you're the best mom!! Happy Mother's day!

Main St. Festival....

....Here we come! Tami and I are getting everything ready for our debut at Laurel's Main Street Festival. I haven't been to this event yet (I've worked the last 2 years during it), but supposedly it is a big event where they close off Main Street and fill it with vendors, food, music, etc. They say that thousands and thousands of people attend it. We are super excited to see how we do selling our craft items, mostly baby stuff....hopefully our stuff will be a hit! If you're in the area and looking for something to do this Saturday, stop by the festival and come say "hi"!
Here's our little sign for our "company"

HALF WAY THERE!

Well, I'm half way through my pregnancy and doing great! I am really blessed to have great pregnancies. I've been feeling the baby move here and there for the last couple weeks and it's really exciting! We also went to get an ultrasound today and everything looks good. We also found out what we're having and it's a.........................

*G*I*R*L*!!!

We are very excited! The ultrasound tech said "I think it's a girl" and went on to say she saw no little boy parts and that she has never been wrong in her 24 years of doing this. For some reason it just doesn't seam real and I wonder if it's really right. But, I'll believe it...I'm sooo excited! Bring on the PINK!
