Here we go...

3 Joys:

- My hubby: he is seriously the coolest guy ever! People often ask how they can get a cool guy like him...he cooks, he cleans, he works, he does dishes, laundry, toilets...really, he does it all!! And he's fun too!

- My kids: Carson and Brynlee really are the joys of my life. It's crazy sometimes to think that they are mine, but I am soo glad they are. They are both so sweet and I love them soo much!

- Sewing! Okay, this one is obvious...Hello, my name is Lynette, and I am addicted to sewing.

3 Fears:

- Losing my husband or one of my kids. Lately I have been hearing/reading about lots of sad stories where people's loved ones or children have died. It worries me that something like that would happen to me. I don't know what I would do if it did.

- Hitting a deer. I am totally afraid of hitting a deer...or swerving and getting in a huge wreck....scary!

- I also fear how good a mom I will be and if my children will grow up to be good people. I don't want all the crazy stuff in this world to influence them and lead them down the wrong path.

3 Goals:

- To be a good mom. I need to take time each day to play on the floor with my children and show them with my actions just how much I love them.

- To exercise at least 3 times a week (or more!). Dan and I have been waking up at 5:30am to workout and it feels so good...we need to keep it up!

- To read my scriptures. I am not good at this at all! I don't like to read, and unfortunately the scriptures are no exception. I really need to pray to understand them and pray that I will enjoy reading them...wish me luck!

3 Obsessions/Collections:

- Okay, you all know my obsession....SEWING!!! I became immediately addicted when my mom gave me my first sewing machine almost 3 years ago. I have made TONS of stuff since then and have even MORE TONS of fabric!!!
- Blogging! I'm obsessed with checking my email and blogs. I recently rearranged my list of family and friend blogs, so it lets me know when they are updated...that should save me a little time.
- I'm also a little (or maybe a lot) obsessed with putting hair accessories on Bryn...this girl stuff is just soo much fun!!

3 Facts about myself: let me see if I can think of something no one knows...hmmmm

- In junior high I shaved half my head (the bottom half). I don't really know why, I really wasn't rebellious.
- I took dance lessons for 11 years growing up...can you tell??
- When I was about 8 I wore a dress to church, came home and took family pictures, and didn't realize till way later that the dress was on backwards....whoops!

Miss Bryn is 9 Months!

Dear Baby Girl Bryn,

I can't believe you are already 9 months. It really seams like just yesterday you were making your exciting appearance, yet it also seams like you've been a part of our family forever! I really mean that! Time goes by so fast with little babies and I can't believe you are fast approaching your first birthday. I so look forward to all the things to come...learning to walk, learning to talk, playing more, doing your hair...etc. But, I'm also sad that I can't remember exactly what you were like just a few months ago....good thing we have pictures and videos. Your personality is showing more and more every day. While other babies your age are going through stranger anxiety, you seamed to have gotten that all out of your system at an early age (like from birth to 4months) and now you're generally a very social, easy going baby...for the most part. You have been able to keep that certain spunk that you gave us a glimpse of on the day you were born. You are very social and you love attention. You play happy on your own for a while, but then you want someone to play with you. You like mommy and daddy, but you especially like Carson. He has always been a very sweet, gentle big brother to you and knows just what makes you laugh. You love his attention and he loves giving it to you! I really hope you two keep that bond forever! You are starting to get around more and more now. You still do this little army crawl/creeping thing, but you are getting rather speedy with it. You can get all around now and so we really need to start baby proofing the house. You actually pulled yourself up once just the other day! In your new mobile adventures, you love to find small things to stick in your mouth. We really need to watch you, I've already seen you try to "eat" a leaf, price tag, rock, wood chip, and other small things. Speaking of eating...you love eating! You eye our food all the time and now really enjoy eating small pieces of whatever we are having. You are a good eater and it shows (yep, you're a healthy size baby too!) You also are a great sleeper now...when you're in your crib that is. You still take 3 naps a day and sleep around 12hrs a night. For someone that loves attention, you don't really like to be rocked. This makes it easy to put you to bed at night, but that also means it is difficult to get you to fall asleep when we are away from your bed. You are great at sharing a room with Carson and sometimes you two won't go to sleep b/c you are "playing" and "talking" with each other. Carson likes to imitate your grunting noises and you play along with his game...so cute! You are getting cuter and cuter by the day! Your hair is growing nicely and I love putting a fun matching headband or bow in your hair. The one thing people always notice about you are your eyes. You have beautiful blue eyes. People comment that they are very sparkly...they really are! They have different shades of blue that really make them sparkle! You are a beautiful baby girl and I am soo glad you are mine! I love you baby Brynlee!

Ocean City!!!

We went to the beach this weekend and it was AWESOME!!! Dan used his awards points and we stayed in the Hilton suites...it was the best!!! Our room had a kitchen, jetted tub, living room and big bedroom with 2 flat screen TV's in the suite. It also had a balcony with a beautiful view of the ocean! The pools at the Hilton were the best, especially the kiddie pool with the pirate ship, waterslide, whirlpool, and lazy river...it was sooo cool!! We had a great time relaxing and playing in the pools and on the beach. Carson loved the sand and waves. I especially enjoyed walking on the boardwalk and looking at all the fun things there. We went on a couple rides and Carson played a couple cheesy carnival games where he actually won! We had lots of yummy beach foods, including Polish water ice (soooo refreshing!) and Thrashers boardwalk fries with vinegar on them...so tasty! It was a quick trip, but the kids had fun and so did we!! I love vacations!

Fun Father's Day night!

Last night we went to a friend's house for an impromptu father's day dessert! I made (well poured pie filling into a crust) a pie and Mary had some ice cream to go with it! It was a fun night of dessert and Rock Band! The kids had a lot of fun too, while the parents were playing, they had fun pouring baby powder all over and playing in the ashes in the charcoal grill....then taking a bath altogether...they were a mess!! Silly kids, they've always been so good playing together, but they were a little too mischievous this time. It was a fun night!!!

Another First!

Carson went to the dentist for the first time today and did great!!! We had been talking it up and reading books about going to the dentist and so he was actually really excited about it. Dan and I had our teeth cleaned first and Carson kept asking if it was his turn yet...he was very excited! He looked so cute sitting in the big dentist's chair. He happily opened his mouth wide whenever he was asked and was just so dang cute!

Bryn has been especially fun lately. She is so close to crawling and can now "creep" all over the place by pulling her belly across the floor with her arms. She also has learned to go from laying on her belly to sitting up. She still has no teeth, but lots and lots of drool! Lately whenever I try to take a picture of her, she opens her mouth real wide and makes this funny face. She's not crying, just being silly. She is a happy little girl!

We're having a great summer so far. We've been to the pool several times and the kiddos love it. Bryn has had no fear with the water; she floats around in her little floatie or especially loves to sit in the inch of water on the ramp and splash around. Carson loves to use his arm floaties and will be taking little swim lessons in a few weeks.

Here are some pics of the kiddos (sorry, I can never pick just one)!

I don't understand it, but I'm not going to complain

****WARNING**** This post contains potty talk!

So, Carson has been really good about going #1 on the potty for quite a while now. We started potty training him a couple months after he turned 2 and we have had many ups and downs, but for several months now, he has been pretty much completely reliable when it comes to #1. #2, on the other hand, is a COMPLETELY different story. We would know when he had to go and when we would ask him if he wanted to sit on the potty he would cry and cry. We tried all sorts of things to get him to go on the potty...trips to Chuck-E-Cheese, a "poopy box" full of prizes, etc. Nothing seamed to really work. We decided not to push it and just work on having him ask for a pull-up when he needed to go #2. I kept telling him that big boys go on the potty and he would be turning 3 soon and be a big boy. Well, apparently he liked that idea, b/c ever since his birthday (I know, it's only been a couple days, but I'll take it!) he's been going poopy on the potty. On his birthday he told me he was pooping and I said that was okay b/c he had a pull-up on and he said "no, i want to go on the potty"...and he did!!!! And he did again later, and FIVE times the next day, and today before nap!!! It's so weird, I don't know what changed about it, but now he will do it...and I'm not complaining!!! Yeah!!!!

Carson turns into THREE!!!

For the last few months leading up to Carson's third birthday he would say "When I turn INTO three"...it always made me laugh! So, today is Carson's birthday and we had a DINO-MITE party for him with all his little friends. Mary helped me make the volcano cake and decorate the house last night so when Carson woke up this morning it was all DINO-RIFFIC! We had 13 little friends and their parents over for pizza and cake. We played one game, which was a dinosaur egg hunt; the kids seamed to like it. Carson had a fun time opening all his presents. He got all sorts of fun things...everyone was sooo generous! He got lots of pool toys, diego stuff, puzzles, a dragon...tons of stuff!!! He was soo happy!! Happy birthday little man...we love you so much!!!
