YADIRF KCABHSALF.....flashback friday!

Here is a picture of my dad (the crazy looking one with the tripod and camera) taking pictures of the Cherry Blossoms a few years back. All the trees are starting to blossom now and we're going to go check out the Cherry Blossoms down on the National Mall this weekend...fun stuff!

The "announcement"

Alison commented on my last entry wondering why we are jumping to get a mini-van. She was wondering if there is another "bun in the oven". Well, she is RIGHT! Some of you already know...I'm 14 weeks pregnant! I've been waiting a little while to share, but I had another doctor's appointment and everything looks good. Dan and I are very excited!! So, that's why we are looking for a mini-van...we're going to use it!

Ultrasound from about 11 weeks...sorry, you can't see much :)

Swimming and the Jeep...

Da Boys

Da Girls

Nope the jeep didn't go swimming this weekend....but we did! Carson loved the pool last summer so we really wanted to take him somewhere swimming at least once this winter. So, we went to a community aquatics center and went swimming. It was so much fun and Carson loved it!! They even had a little waterfall structure with several spouts of falling water. I think one of Carsons all time favorite things is falling water....he loves having the water running in the bath. Needless to say, Carson had a great night at the pool and cried when we left.

Now on to the jeep. Well, our poor beloved jeep wrangler "died" today. Ironically just last night Dan and I had this long conversation about what you should and shouldn't do if your car were to die. So, I was driving to work and was stopping for the red light when I went to shift it out of 4th gear and it was completely stuck. I couldn't get it to budge at all. We knew the jeep was on it's way out and the transmission was nearly done, so it wasn't a surprise. It was just a matter of time; we were just hoping it would last a little longer. So, I immediately called Dan and he quickly put Carson in the car and came to my rescue. Meanwhile I was waving people around me and trying to get it out of 4th gear...with no luck. So, when Dan got there we were able to push it into a gas station and he took me to work. Dan later got a friend to help him tow it back home and now we need to figure out what to do with it. I must admit, I'm a little sad that the jeep is dead. Ever since I knew Dan, he has always LOVED his jeep. It's his "baby". And he loves jeepin' and taking the top and doors off in the summer. He is just 100% a jeep guy! And now Carson recognizes jeeps and will say "jeep" whenever we see one or when Dan comes home. I love hearing Carson say "jeep....daddy?". So, I'm a little sad that we won't have the jeep anymore :( You've been a good jeep!!! We've been looking around at Nissan Quest minivans, so now we need to look more seriously. Anyone got any car suggestions??

Fun pictures of Carson

Carson is so much fun lately! He is so interactive and talks ALL the time. Some of his favorite words to say are "fish", "show?", "water", "danny" for candy, and many more. One of my favorite words he says is "funny". He says it slowly with a low voice, it sounds so funny. Whenever he thinks he's doing something funny, he'll say it...it's really cute. Here are just a few recent pictures.

Before our walk today with his cute hat on.
After our walk...HAT HAIR!!
More hat hair.
A picture my dad took. Notice the jelly bean in his hand, that was a bribe.
Watching a show in his recliner.
Daddy's hat....so cute!
Go BYU!
Playing with daddy...funny pom-pom head.
Another picture my dad took.

PUKE!

Yesterday we had an "exciting" day. After I worked all day, Dan and I decided to go to Ledo's pizza for dinner, since we had a gift card. While we were waiting for our pizza, Carson was being pretty good. We got an appetizer of cheese fries (we were going for healthy of course) and I gave Carson a piece of bacon. Well, it was a long, stringy, piece of bacon and he shoved the whole thing in his mouth. He usually does fine with just about any type of food and rarely ever chokes. After chewing and working on his stringy piece of bacon for about 5 minutes, he started gagging. I held him while he tried to gag it up and then.....PUKE! I quickly put out my hand and caught it. Then he puked again....got it again! Then Dan pulled the half swallowed piece of bacon out of his mouth and he puked again...got that too! Well, I guess I didn't completely get it all since it was all over him and me too. So, Dan quickly asked our waitress if we could get our pizza to go while I cleaned us up best I could. Then we got out of there as fast as we could...how embarrassing!!! I actually don't know if other people in the restaurant really noticed our little incident but Carson was a little freaked out by it, so we just took him home to calm down. He was fine when we got home and we finished our dinner there. Oh, the constant joys of parenting.

After dinner I left to go set up for the youth dance that we were in charge of. Of course, we had a St. Patty's day theme. He handed out glow necklaces to all the boys and they had to ask a girl to dance and give her the necklace. It was pretty fun. I think overall the dance was a big success. My friend Chantel and I danced the night away and maybe scared a few of the youth. After a couple hours of "helping" the kids dance together, they finally seamed to do it by themselves by the end. I really think the dance was a hit!

Gotta Luv Josh!

Last night Dan and I went with our friends, the Kellers, to see Josh Groban. It was so much fun!!! We had dinner first and then went to see the concert. This is the second time Dan and I have seen him, we saw him the first time on our one year anniversary. He was very entertaining and very funny too! The concert was great and he sang most of my favorite songs. Dan and I really enjoy going to concerts together, but it happens less and less these days. It was a great night!

While we were at the concert my friends Robyn and Nick watched Carson. They SPOILED him. They took him to 5 guys burgers for dinner, then to her mom's house, to CVS, to Cold Stone creamery, and to Walmart! He was spoiled rotten with his own food, own cup of ice cream, and toys..etc! I was a little worried how he would be with them taking him away from his house, but he did great. I was so happy. Thank you Robyn and Nick...you guys are the best!

Another Project...

Here are some pictures of another project I recently finished. My good friend Jolynn just had her second child, a little baby boy. Her family recently moved back to Tremonton, Utah and I like to tease her that she lives in the middle of no-where (which it sounds like she kinda does). I thought this was the perfect person to make a fun "cowboy" quilt for. So, here is my first cowboy quilt. Every time I would work on the quilt, Carson would always come over and say "mooo, mooo, mooo!!!!". He loved the cow-print fabric. So, I quilted the word "moo" over and over in the small cow print border. The backing fabric was fun with all sorts of cowboy words and sayings on it. The lasso was made out of ric-rac, "braided" together. I also made some matching burp cloths and a fun cowboy sheriff bib. I also couldn't pass up these cute cowboy boots I found at Target that went perfectly with the gift. So, there you have it....another project. I'm so excited for Jolynn and her family and their new little cowboy!

Flashback Friday

These pictures are from last year when we visited the Baltimore Aquarium. Well, we went again tonight! Friday nights have a cheaper rate, so we thought we would go again. Carson really enjoyed it, especially the turtles and the dolphin show. Everywhere we went he would say "water?" and "fish!"....he was really cute. What a fun night!

Happy, Happy Birthday...

DANNY dear!!! Yup, It's Dan's birthday today! I won't say how old he is, but let's just say he's OLD! You are the best Dan...and you deserve the best day ever! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

Oh Deer!

So, I was just driving home from work at about midnight and was 2 streets from my house when I saw four beautiful deer prancing across the street. If you don't already know, I have a fear of hitting a deer while driving, but this time was different. I had plenty of time to see them coming, put the brakes on, and watch all four of them cross the street. It was so pretty and majestic that it practically brought a tear to my eye. It just made me realize how beautiful our earth is...cheesy I know, but it was just beautiful!!

Another carseat blanket

Here are some pictures of another carseat blanket I made. I fell in love with this beautiful material and had to buy it. I knew it would be perfect for my friend Debi, who just had her third baby. The adorable girl "modeling" the blanket is Kaitlyn, the little baby I watch.

Flashback Friday

Okay, this flashback goes WAY back...all the way to Wednesday! Carson, Kaitlyn (the baby I watch) and I went to a play date at Rebecca's house. It was a blast! There were plenty of us moms and lots of kids. We had a potluck of sub sandwiches and it was all yummmy! Carson had a great time and hardly even talked to me; he was so busy playing with everyone. My friends from church are so much fun and I love every minute I get to spend with them. Thanks Rebecca for a great day! If you want to check out more pictures from the play date, go to Rebecca's blog.
